Q:  Why should I wash my THERMOSTYLES garment?

A:  Various activities can lead to build up of dirt, sweat, body oils and sunscreen  on your outerwear and as a result the DWR (durable water repellent) treatment may diminish. Washing your coat can restore the DWR and thus, lengthen the longevity and functionality of your outerwear.

Q: What is DWR (durable water repellent)?

1. DWR (durable water repellent) is applied to the outerwear during production, in order to ensure breathability and water repellency.

Q: How frequently should I wash?

A: The frequency of washing will be based upon your usage and the frequency your outerwear becomes soiled. If you notice moisture on your skin during outdoor activities, while wearing your outerwear, this signifies the DWR needs to be restored.

Q: What preparation should I do when washing my outerwear?

A:  To ensure your garment does not tear, remove everything from the pockets, close all zippers, button all buttons, and release tension on all drawstrings.

1. How should I wash my down alternative filled outerwear?

Wash it with cold water on the gentle spin cycle; remove the garment from the washer, shake it to release excess water then put it in the dryer. Tumble dry on medium heat setting for 50 minutes or until your outerwear is dry.
